Advantages and Disadvantages between Dry & Oil immersed type High Voltage Transformer

The most common types of high voltage transformer are Dry Type and Oil-immersed Type. Today let’s talk about their advantages and disadvantages and differences.

Advantages and disadvantages of dry-type transformer and oil-immersed transformer:

1.Dry-type transformer is more expensive than oil in price.
2.In Capacity, large capacity oil changes more than dry capacity.
3.Dry transformations are required in complex buildings (basements, floors, roofs, etc.) and crowded places. Oil transformer is used in independent transformer substation.
4.The transformer inside the box transformer usually adopts the Dry-type transformer. Outdoor temporary electricity is usually changed by Oil type transformer.
5.Dry type and Oil type Transformers can be selected according to space during construction. Oil type can be selected when space is large, and Dry type can be selected when space is crowded.
6.Regional climate is humid and muggy areas, better to use oil type transformer. If dry type is used, forced air cooling equipment must be equipped.
